Blade Runner: Eine 25 Jahre währende filmmusikalische Odyssee Die einzigartige Synthesizer-Tonspur von Vangelis zu Ridley Scotts erstem dystopischen Meilenstein nach Kubricks 2001: Odyssee im Weltraum begann 1982 ihr Tonträger-Dasein offiziell als Orchester-(!)-Interpretation bzw. inoffiziell als äußerst limitierte Audio-Kassette. Mit 12 Jahren Verspätung und nach etlichen weiteren "Bootlegs", deren "berühmteste" wohl die "Off World Music"-Ausgabe darstellt, erschienen 1989 erste einzelne Stücke und dann 1994 endlich der "echte" Soundtrack, zumindest in Ausschnitten. Noch mehr "private releases" sollten folgen. Diese Entwicklung kulminiert nun im Dezember 2007 in der offiziellen Dreifach-CD-Veröffentlichung mit tatsächlich auf allen bisherigen Fassungen unveröffentlichtem und doch im Film verwendeten Material und äußerst anregenden, weiterführenden und -gewachsenen musikalischen Gedanken von Vangelis in bester Klangqualität.
